Pennsylvania, Lake Placid and Troy

We took a side-trip to visit my cousin who lives in Lancaster County, PA.  That's Amish Country.

After searching for about two hours, we finally found a covered bridge to show Shonagh.

Shonagh, who is into quilting, had hoped to see a few Amish Quilts.  We ended up in an actual Amish house, looking through piles of beautiful quilts.  Then my cousin bought us one for a wedding gift.  It was a very memorable trip.

On Saturday, 20 April, we had an earthquake.  5.1 on the Richter Scale.  It was Shonagh's first.  The epicenter was near Lake Placid where, coincidentally, we had planned to go that day.  This is the Olympic Center in the town.

That afternoon we climbed Mt. Jo for a view of the Adirondack High Peaks.  It was cooler that day, or we wouldn't have attempted it.

A visit to my erstwhile dance school was a must.  I got to see all my old classmates and watch a bit of Step dancing.  They had even made us a cake and bought us a gift.
