Saba
[Album] [SCUBA] [First Dive] [St. Maartin] [Saba]
One day, during my stay on St. Maartin, I took an excursion to Saba.
Saba, it turns out, has some of the most spectacular diving in the world. It is a beautiful, if tiny, island surround by reefs and canyons and abundant sea life.
I had no underwater camera, but I can tell you it was fantastic. The water was so warm and clear I often forgot I was 75 feet under the surface. There were huge corals, schools of fish, sand worms, anemones and so many amazing things I had never seen before except on National Geographic specials.
Saba is a beautiful place to dive and, as they make most of their money off of tourists, especially divers, they treat visitors very well. If you get to the Caribbean, it's well worth taking a side trip to Saba.
