This guy was giving a mesmerizing lecture on the history of Scottish swords.

 

 

 

I was there for over five hours and wasn't bored a bit.  I ran into a bunch of people I knew from dance class and/or work, listened to the music, both traditional and modern, watched the dancers and some of the Scottish Games and sat in on a lecture on Celtic fighting swords.  It was all very fascinating.

   

This, I am certain, is the 'Caber Toss.'


  


Where the Scot's picked up on the idea of throwing telephone poles as a sport is anyone's guess.
