One of the days, it was dreary and overcast, but I think that only added to the drama of the magnificent scenery.

Quite by accident, we walked into the opportunity to see a real steam engine.  It was worth the 10-minute wait; but other folks (READ: Train Spotters) had been standing out in the cold wind for hours.

Glen Coe.  Very pretty.

Fort William in the highlands.

That narrow ribbon winding through this picturesque valley is the old Military Highway.  It was built in 1768 by the Brits so their armies could move into the hills to help keep those rowdy Scots in line.  The place we stopped to take this photo was a resting area, made along with the road, called the 'Rest and Be Thankful.'  The only thing I was thankful of was getting back in the car to get out of the wind.

This is the Charles Rennie Macintosh House.
