Horsham, West Sussex
1 June 2002
We moved to Horsham from Crawley at the end of May, 2002.
Horsham is a quaint little town that has managed to
preserve its charm as it continues to grow and modernize.
It's the sort of town American's expect to see when they visit England, but seldom do.

If you were to visit Horsham, one of the first things
you would be likely to see would be the bandstand
in the main square.

In addition to the bandstand, the Square also has a war memorial, benches, shops and outdoor dining.

This is also where they keep the pillory and
whipping post.  They look to be in good order,
but I have never seen them in use.

From the Square, you can walk along the Carfax (that's a street) onto Middle Street, with its shops, cafés and pubs.

Middle Street becomes East Street, then Queen's Street.  There are more shopping, dining and socializing opportunities up this way, as well.

Nearby is a large park with a playground, gardens, leisure Centre, its own bandstand and, of course, a Tea Shoppe.
