   The Streets of Amsterdam

View from our room at the Di Ann hotel.  This was rush hour; there is not a lot of auto traffic in Amsterdam..

One of the many, quaint side-streets.

Another narrow street.  Note the bicycles.

Ah, young love!  This is a example of Amsterdam.  This photo was taken from my seat at the outdoor cafe.

View behind our hotel.  All those narrow canal houses surround these haphazard sort of common gardens.

A happy man.

Saturday, 31 May
Once again I find myself traveling to exotic, foreign places and, once again, it doesn't seem like we went very far.  On the other hand, it certainly did take a long time.
We started at 6:30 this AM from Horsham and arrived in Amsterdam around 5 PM.  This train was so slow through England but once we reach the Continent the speed picked up considerably.  The weather has been hot lately, but I see here it is a bit cloudy, which I regard as a good thing . . ."

Sunday, 1 June
I've been in Holland for one whole day now and what I've discovered is that the Dutch like their coffee in really tiny cups.
