Limerick
13 hours after stepping on an airplane in Albany, NY,
I stepped off of a bus in downtown Limerick with no idea of where I was going to
stay or what I was going to do.  It was a rather sobering experience.

Main Street, Limerick, Ireland.

All the while I stayed there, it was gray and wet.

It was a quaint little city, however.

Oh my God!  He's everywhere!

The majestic River Shannon.  I gotta tell you, the stench was something horrific.

St. John's Castle.  Real estate dating back over 1000 years.  Now that's something we don't have in America.

Journal Excerpt:  Limerick is a dreary place, lacking the population or ambition to be truly dreadful like our American cities.  Yet it possesses a tenacious beauty that continually refuses to be conquered despite the best efforts of the weather and dreary cityscapes.
